“Adopt a village”
‘“.....To solve such equations... “ . These were the only words I could manage to decipher from the yodelling voice. The professor was ululating in animation, the class was culminating in alienation. I was let’s say meditating ...no, not sleeping, believe me. Amidst my cogitation I suddenly caught these words “The reason we divide it by x...” and it hit me. “ The reason “, what can be the reason to bear this load of crap to divide some, multiply some. Why do we have to study all this?.... ‘If this resembles a day in your life or all of your days then there could be no place better than this to come and join us at the initiative “Adopt a village”.
This season at Technozion we tell you the reason if you are sincerely looking for it. You want the reason? Look into the vacuous and turbid eyes of the needy they will give you a reason. Touch a starving body of a poor village urchin which bares to you the entire anatomy of its 206 bones, it will give you an answer. Take a breath of their rancid existence it will be enough to account for all the efforts you make to listen to and understand all the crap your professors deliver to you. Every unclad boy, every unfed human and every uncared soul ask us of their share of happiness, their dignity of existence and we will have to answer to them because these very catatonic faces lighten up with hope when they look up to us and it would be too great a burden for us to live with, acknowledging that we could not feed some, drape some, love some because we were too busy “meditating”. This is the real reason. Your lust for a fat salary, a good life will seem too petty a reason when you conjure the facts.

Worldwide, 2.2 million people die from waterborne illness and most of them are younger than 5 years old. Most Indians depend on on-site sanitation facilities. Of the 2.5 Billion people in the world that defecate openly, some 665 million live in India and a large portion of these people live in the rural sector. This is of greater concern as 88% of deaths from diarrhoea occur because of unsafe water, inadequate sanitation and poor hygiene. India produces about 600 million tons of agricultural residues. Most of them are burnt in the field which leads to environmental pollution and loss of energy. There are over 400 million Indians that have no access to electricity.
Indian villages at present has a voracious appetite to assimilate nascent technologies and with you , the best minds of the country who will be joining us at this symposium, we believe it could not have asked for better connoisseurs. It has been long since we have tried to interpolate our villages to the mainstream and have remained disappointed with our endeavours, so its time that we route the mainstream through our villages. We at Technozion 2011 believe that if India’s nationalism sprouted from the villages, will so innovation and growth. If the nation needs to touch the skies it would first have to reach its grassroots.
Our theme this year is “technology and evolution “and what could have been a better platform to launch an initiative such as this. This initiative invites for ideas that are not just genuine and simple but also incorporates humanism as their basis of ideology. The paper should address issues on development of the rural populous under six basic categories: rural electrification, rural irrigation, rural waste management, safe drinking water, sanitation, cooking devices and technology. Papers from candidates can be directed to any of these topics. A single best paper from among all the categories in totality would be awarded.
Believe me it’s always better to discard your lackadaisicalness before the professor throws a chalk at you.
“Adopt a boy , raise a Samaritan. Adopt a village, nurture the entire nation “

NANOHOUSE
Issues with finding proper housing with well equipped services in urban areas has become an increasing challenge. Finding sustainable living solutions in urban areas can be next to impossible. There are many people in the world who have amazing ideas to solve this increasing menace. Technozion’11, National Institute of Technology, Warangal provides you a platform to put forward your ideas on how you can help forming an economically feasible solution to this issue.
Nano house is an event based on the concept for residential use that presents an innovative and sustainable architectural idea. The design is based on the combination of various material which include Lime sand bricks, cement slag bricks or even using bamboo floors or recycled materials and also using foam for making wall like structures etc. It also includes the use of renewable energy systems hence reducing the environmental impact. Hence the basic idea is to suggest an optimistic and environmental solution for the global housing issue of very small living spaces at extremely low prices.
The "Nano House" can be used by a family of four in an area consisting of 300sq ft. Our basic goal is to design the most economical house which can provide a comfortable living for small family of max. Four people. The maximum cost for the construction of this house should not be more than Rs. 1 Lakh. It should be spacious and well designed. And also shouldn’t exceed the constraints mentioned above.
The winner of this event will get a prize money !
Here’s the chance for the architect in you to blossom !
